The Geospatial Laboratory offers geospatial computing and geo-services, in order to find geospatial solutions in multidisciplinary research. This laboratory provide Geospatial Technologies including here map designing and analysis, geospatial data generation, editing/transformation, remotely sensed data analysis, spatial analysis and geostatistics, and interactive map design. The Geospatial Lab provides education and support for all geographic information science at the UBT College. Through the Geospatial Lab, students and faculty develop a comprehensive understanding of geographic technologies and techniques, including QuantumGIS, Geomedia Professional, ArcGIS, Grass, Google Earth Engine, web mapping applications, and remote sensing. The laboratory maintains a number of dedicated computers loaded with leading industry software. It also provides GIS consultations and project management for students, staff, faculty, and external parties pursuing independent projects. Geospatial technology is used in a wide variety of industries, including local and central public institutions, non-governmental, environmentally focused agencies and organizations, environmental science, public health and urban planning. The Geospatial Technology, as an industry, is one of the fastest growing sectors in the modern economy.
